The future's bright!

What a week we had last week - CeBIT kicked off and almost immediately, we had some new and exciting revelations to bring to you  - Pocket PC is almost here - with an OS and applications that are much more suited to mobile life that Windows CE ever was; a new, colour enabled Palm OS with which Palm Inc are hoping to battle Pocket PC was released; and more companies showing their Bluetooth projects, (such as Toshiba and Compaq), just shows how much development work is going on in this area.

These are certainly exciting times in the handheld/Pocket PC/PDA world. And we here at TopPocket.com will do our best to bring you related news and information as it happens.

Microsoft/AOL to announce deal

The question marks currently hanging over Microsoft's business practices certainly hasn't dulled their appetite. The rumours currently being bandied about say that Microsoft and AOL together with a third 'large' organisation will this week announce a deal enabling users to access information anytime, anywhere.. Watch this space for more info as we get it!

TopPocket.com is three weeks old!

As you've probably seen, our web site continues to be developed. Please bear with us as we continue to work on this exciting, new project - you'll be glad you did!

This week, we'll be working on our Bluetooth and Wap pages - so stay tuned!

Palm OS® software version 3.5 almost here

The new, colour-enabled version of the Palm OS® version 3.5 is being made available to developers in pre-release form.

This new version of the OS includes a new user interface as well as other 'element's. Developing for this version is supposed to be much easier than previous versions due to enhanced development tools.

This news will be welcomed by users of Apple's now defunct Newton PDA as Apple is rumored to be developing a new PDA for release this summer that is believed to be based on this OS.

Talking of Apple, one of the recent trademarks taken out by the company was for 'Airsurf' - probably to be used in conjunction with it's AirPort wireless communications technology.
